How to Add an Environmental Tax #

Adding an environmental tax is a simple process. Please follow these steps to enable this fee to be automatically charged when booking your accommodation.

Access to the price of accommodation or room

1. When adding a new or editing an existing listing or hotel room, click the Rates tab.
2. Scroll to the Additional Service section.
3. Click on the Add New button to add a new service.

Setting up service details #

After adding a new service, enter the following information:

1. Service title:
   • Enter a name, e.g. “Environmental tax”, “Tourist tax” or similar.
   • (This title will be visible to guests on the platform.)
2. Name:
   • Add a unique identifier (slug) for this fee.
   • (The name is not visible to the public, but is used to distinguish services internally.)
3. Maximum number of entries:
   • Set the value to 1, because the tax is charged per accommodation unit (apartment, room) per day, not per person.
4. Price:
   • Enter the amount, e.g. 1.50 for a fee of €1.50 per day.
   • Note: Use a period (.) to separate decimals, not a comma.
5. Mandatory service:
   • Set ON if you want the fee to be charged when booking on the platform.
   • Set OFF if you want the guest to have the choice to pay the fee at the time of booking or upon arrival.
6. Extra price per service:
   • Select the option Per day, so that the tax is calculated on a daily basis, according to the length of stay.
